Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise’s Neonatal Care program donated 23 essential newborn care devices to the Khanh Vinh District Medical Center in Khanh Hoa Province in March 03, 2025. This marks the second time the program has partnered with the Khanh Vinh District Medical Center, contributing to the protection and nurturing of the future generation of Khanh Hoa Province.
Khanh Vinh is a mountainous district located more than 33km from Nha Trang City, bordering Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces. With over 15 ethnic groups such as Raglai, Ede, Cham, etc., the people’s livelihoods are mainly based on agriculture with small cultivation areas, leading to significant economic difficulties. Khanh Vinh is one of the 74 poorest districts in the country according to Decision No. 353 of the Prime Minister issued in 2022.
The Khanh Vinh District Medical Center is the most capable medical facility in the district, serving the healthcare needs of the people. However, the center’s medical equipment is still insufficient to meet the demand, especially equipment for reproductive health, maternal, and child care.
Previously, in September 2023, DNXH Vietnam Children’s Fund sponsored 6 essential newborn medical devices such as fetal monitor, injection pumps, crash carts, etc., to facilitate better care and treatment for newborn and premature babies here. These devices helped provide timely treatment opportunities for over 1,000 children in the area.
Given the increased number of patients, especially during seasonal transitions, Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise’s Neonatal Care program, along with its sponsors, continues to partner in supporting the enhancement of this medical facility’s capacity through the donation of 23 essential medical devices, including: 01 infant warmer, 02 portable phlegm suction units, 02 SPO2 monitors, 03 fetal Doppler monitors, and 15 birth assistance toolkits.
To preserve life and reduce infant mortality rates in remote areas, Vietnam Children’s Fund’s Neonatal Care program collaborates with sponsors to provide essential neonatal care equipment and training in neonatal resuscitation for doctors and nurses in rural medical centers. This initiative focuses on emergency care and treatment for preterm infants and those with neonatal diseases. Throughout its operation, the efforts of the Neonatal Care program by Vietnam Children’s Fund have yielded positive results, saving the lives of many newborns.
