According to UNICEF, more than 7.7 million children in Vietnam go to school without access to safe, clean water. Complementing this alarming statistic, research from the Vietnam Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment shows that up to 80% of diseases in the country are linked to poor water and air quality.
This stark reality raises an urgent public health concern: unsafe water remains a direct threat to children’s health, education, and holistic development. Children exposed to contaminated water sources are vulnerable to parasitic infections, severe diarrhea, malnutrition, and a range of other long-term health conditions.
In response, Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise, in partnership with MoMo Super App, has launched a clean water campaign targeting schools in underserved coastal regions of Vinh Long province. The initiative is powered by MoMo’s community-driven fundraising model, enabling users to contribute easily through Golden Pigs – the app’s symbolic micro-donation unit.
Each Golden Pig carries a ripple of compassion – a tangible contribution toward ensuring safe, sustainable access to clean water for vulnerable students. When clean water flows into schools, so too does the chance for children to thrive, to dream, and to grow in dignity and health.
