The first cry of a newborn is a sacred moment for every family. However, in Bac Ha, Lao Cai – a mountainous region where floods and landslides frequently disrupt transportation – not every baby is fortunate enough to receive timely medical care.
At Bac Ha Hospital, the number of pregnant women and newborns continues to increase, yet the hospital has only one ventilator. During the harsh winter, when pneumonia cases in newborns surge, infants must share this single machine. Any technical failure could tragically take away their chance to survive.
For this reason, the Neonatal Care program, together with MoMo Super App, has launched the campaign “Donate golden piggy – Give Thousands of Breaths. The initiative will provide essential neonatal resuscitation equipment and medical training for healthcare professionals in underserved areas. It is expected to benefit at least 3,000 children each year, ensuring timely treatment and giving them the chance to survive from their very first breaths.
Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise calls for the community’s support. Every donation is a miracle that can protect the fragile lives of newborns in the mountains of Bac Ha.
