On the morning of September 28, 2025, at The Metropole Thu Thiem (Ho Chi Minh City), the “Run For The Heart 2025” event took place in an exciting atmosphere and left many lasting impressions. The race attracted more than 5,000 participants and successfully raised over VND 7 billion, helping to bring life-saving heart surgeries to hundreds of Vietnamese children with congenital heart defects through the Heartbeat Vietnam program and the Scar of Life program.
A journey of spreading love for more than a decade
Launched in 2013, Run For The Heart is one of Vietnam’s pioneering charity runs with a special mission: to raise funds for surgeries for disadvantaged children with congenital heart defects.
After more than a decade, the event has become a prestigious and highly anticipated annual community event. By 2025, it had raised a total of VND 46 billion, covering surgery costs for 1,716 children through VinaCapital Foundation’s Heartbeat Vietnam program and the Scar of Life initiative by Vietnam Children’s Fund. With this year’s contribution of more than VND 7 billion, the program’s total fund has reached over VND 53 billion – equivalent to nearly 2,000 children across Vietnam who have been or will be saved through heart surgeries.
“Every Beat of Love for Children” – a message that touches hearts
This year’s theme, “Spread Love To All Heartbeats,” reaffirms the spirit of solidarity and compassion, as thousands of hearts beat together for less fortunate children.
In addition to the traditional 5km and 10km races, a brand-new 1km Fun Run was introduced, open to both runners and their pets. The activity quickly became a highlight, attracting young families, animal lovers, and children participating in the race for the first time.
Many children surprised adults by completing the 1km and even the 5km route on their own, showcasing perseverance and the desire to conquer personal limits.
This is the core value the program seeks to promote: not only fostering compassion and social responsibility but also encouraging everyone to stay active and embrace a healthy, energetic lifestyle.
Sharing about the program’s significance, Mr. Angus Liew, Chairman of Gamuda Land Vietnam, said:
“Run For The Heart has become more than just a charity race; it is a symbol of unity and shared responsibility. Over the years, the event has nurtured values of empathy, volunteerism, and healthy living. Most importantly, it reminds us that when we act together, we can truly change lives—giving children with congenital heart defects the chance to grow up healthy and pursue their dreams.
This year’s theme represents Gamuda Land’s long-term commitment to building not only townships but also a caring, connected community. It is also a call for everyone to show compassion and join hands to ensure that every small heartbeat continues to beat strong.”
