Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival (also known as Moon Festival), the Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise, in collaboration with the City Children’s Hospital and various sponsors, organized a special day to celebrate this cherished holiday for pediatric patients, especially those undergoing cancer treatment. This event aims to bring joy, laughter, and motivation to young patients facing illness.
Hosted on September 12, 2024, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a kaleidoscope of happiness and joy, providing the children with a refreshing break from their daily routines. The hospital courtyard transformed into a vibrant playground where a variety of games are organized. The festival featured special cultural performances, including traditional dances performed by local artists, musical performances that filled the air with festive melodies, and the enchanting presence of the Moon Lady, who brought stories and magic to the celebration.
With support from our generous donors, the event distributed 400 gifts, including lanterns, candies, mooncakes, and school supplies, to these children to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. These gifts come from the valuable contributions of many businesses operating in the city, such as Annam Gourmet, LUXASIA, Three O’clock, Mega Market, F45 Training Vietnam, Dai Phat Food, and other kind-hearted individuals.
The organizing committee hopes that these beautiful memories and heartfelt gifts would provide the children with the strength to overcome the challenges of their treatment, while always keeping faith and hope alive for a brighter future.
Cancer has robbed many children of their childhood, casting a shadow over their lives with its high treatment costs and the burden of physical and emotional pain. Supporting these children is not merely a charitable deed but a collective duty that falls upon our community. Children with cancer require financial assistance to access the most effective treatments and need our care and support to navigate the physical and mental obstacles they face. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, holds great meaning and value.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to the compassionate individuals, volunteers, and all the units that have joined hands to bring a truly meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival to the children. We believe that the power of love and sharing from the community will help energize the children in their battle against this disease. The festival not only brings joy to the children but also serves as a source of encouragement that we want to extend to the parents, helping them to be more confident in accompanying their children on the treatment journey,” shared the representative of the Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise.
