Many children in remote and mountainous areas are born with congenital heart defects, but are not diagnosed in time. When daily necessities like food and clothing remain constant concerns, combined with limited access to transportation and the long distance to major hospitals, many families only seek medical care for their children when the condition has already become severe.

In response to this reality, the Congenital Heart Defects Screening program, implemented by the Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise, has brought free mobile heart screenings to various localities. In 2025, with the support of Entrepreneur Huy Tran, founder of ChanChan Noodle, the program organized screening trips across six provinces: Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Da Nang, Lang Son, Quang Ngai, and Ninh Binh. Through these efforts, 14,253 children received free heart screenings, and 125 children were identified with congenital heart conditions in time to receive monitoring and treatment.

Beyond screening, families whose children require surgery but cannot afford the costs are guided by the Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise in preparing applications for financial support.

The Congenital Heart Defects Screening program sincerely thanks our sponsor, Entrepreneur Huy Tran, founder of ChanChan Noodle, for his generosity and companionship on this journey to help more underprivileged children gain the opportunity for early detection and treatment of congenital heart defects.
