The Congenital Heart Defects Screening program by Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise recently arrived at Thai Nguyen Rehabilitation Hospital, bringing specialized pediatric cardiac care closer to children and families across the province.
For many families, traveling to major cardiac centers in big cities remains a significant challenge. Each outreach clinic therefore provides more than just a medical check-up, it gives children the opportunity to be examined by experienced pediatric cardiologists, helping detect heart conditions early and ensuring timely treatment when needed.
Over the two-day program on June 13–14, 2026, a total of 275 children received free heart screenings. The medical team identified 19 children with congenital heart defects, including 13 who were recommended for cardiac intervention or surgery. Children from disadvantaged families will continue to receive guidance and support from the program to help them access appropriate treatment assistance.
