A fulfilling school day requires more than classrooms and books. It also depends on essentials such as a clean, safe, and reliable source of drinking water.
To help improve learning and living conditions for children in mountainous areas, Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H’Hen Niê is joining the Clean Water & Environmental Impact of Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise to launch the “Clean Water for Every School Day” campaign at Cau May Primary and Secondary School in Sa Pa, Lao Cai Province.
The campaign aims to raise VND 414 million to establish a clean water solution serving 412 students and 30 teachers and school staff members.

Clean water for every school day
In areas where infrastructure remains limited, access to a clean and reliable water supply at school can still be challenging. This affects daily activities and may pose health risks to both students and teachers.
To address this need sustainably, the project plans to provide:
- A borehole to ensure a stable water supply;
- A reverse osmosis water filtration system with a capacity of 150 litres per hour;
- A handwashing station for students;
- Water quality testing, system maintenance, and monitoring over three years.
The water will be tested by accredited professional units before and after the system is installed. The treatment process includes pre-filtration, activated carbon filtration, water softening, reverse osmosis, and UV disinfection to ensure the safety of the treated water.
Once completed, the system will provide clean water each day for 442 students, teachers, and staff members, contributing to a safer and more supportive learning environment.
Through the “Clean Water for Every School Day” campaign, H’Hen Niê will join Vietnam Children’s Fund in raising awareness of the need for clean water in schools in mountainous areas and encouraging greater community support.
Alongside the installation of the water system, students will participate in educational activities on clean water, personal hygiene, and environmental protection.
Through age-appropriate games, creative sessions, and interactive activities, they will learn how to use water safely and responsibly while helping protect local water resources. The habits developed at school can also be brought home and shared with their families and communities.
Help us complete the project in 2026
The campaign aims to raise VND 414 million, equivalent to USD 15,807, to cover all project components, including drilling the borehole, installing the filtration system and handwashing station, conducting water quality tests, providing hygiene education, maintaining the system, and evaluating its impact.
Funds are expected to be mobilised between September and October 2026, allowing the system to be installed and handed over in December 2026. Support received during this period will help keep the project on schedule and bring clean water to the students and teachers as soon as possible.
100% of all contributions to the campaign will be used to implement the program.
