For the first time, the Congenital Heart Defects Screening program arrived in Vinh Long on a day of heavy rain. Despite the challenging weather, many parents still brought their children to the screening site, hoping to check their heart health and better understand their children’s cardiac conditions.

On October 2-3, 2026, the program partnered with the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City to conduct screenings in Trung Ngai and Long Vinh communes, Vinh Long Province.

Medical teams provided health check-ups and echocardiograms to detect potential heart abnormalities early and identify children who might need intervention. Volunteers from Crossian also joined the program, helping coordinate activities and engaging with the children.

Over the two days, the program achieved the following results:
– 1,889 children received health check-ups.
– 430 children received echocardiograms.
– 5 children were diagnosed with congenital heart defects.
– 4 children were recommended for early surgery or intervention.

Our sincere thanks to the Vinh Long Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, Support for Persons with Disabilities and Protection of Children’s Rights, and local authorities for their support in organizing the screening trip. We are also grateful to Crossian, the volunteers, and the medical team from the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City for their dedicated efforts in caring for the children’s health.
