Ho Chi Minh City, June 25, 2025 – Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise (VCF SE) is officially launching “Preloved to Beloved”, a social impact program that gives preloved high-end fashion items a second life—while giving underprivileged children a second chance at health, safety, and education during Vietnam’s coldest months. We are supported in this sustainable endeavor by our partner, RE.LOVED Vietnam.
Every winter, thousands of children liviog in mountainous and remote areas across Vietnam face freezing temperatures without adequate winter clothing. Many children in these regions are at risk of respiratory illness, school dropout, and even death due to extreme cold. Respiratory disease, pneumonia, is the number one cause of child mortality in Vietnam. At the same time, millions of pieces of wearable clothing are discarded every year, much of it still in good condition. This growing contradiction between fashion waste and urgent need is what sparked the creation of the Preloved to Beloved program.
Preloved to Beloved aims to bridge the gap between fashion excess and poor child health inequity by turning “preloved” clothing into a lifesaving impact. Through a sustainable, circular model, the program gathers high-quality preloved fashion, particularly designer and luxury items, from individuals, high-end brand retailers, and other fashion sensitive corporate partners. All items are thoughtfully curated and resold through RE.LOVED Vietnam, Vietnam’s trusted resale platform for second-hand luxury fashion merchandise. 100% of the resale proceeds are used to purchase new, weather-appropriate winter clothing for children in need. Every luxury donation directly impacts the lives of children with measurable change—ensuring that poor children stay healthy, stay in school, and stay safe through harsh winters.
RE.LOVED Vietnam plays a key operational role in the program, leveraging its expertise in resale curation, authentication, and community-driven circular fashion to maximize both the financial proceeds and the impact on children’s health.
The program welcomes all forms of support and sponsorship. As it evolves, Preloved to Beloved will collaborate with a wide range of partners across various fashion categories. In its first phase, the focus is on luxury and designer items.
At its core, Preloved to Beloved champions a triple-impact mission:
- Lowering child mortality by protecting children with essential winter wear
- Reducing fashion waste and environmental harm
- Fostering a culture of sustainability, generosity, and conscious consumption
“Preloved to Beloved thrives on a shared purpose. We’re calling on individuals, influencers, KOLs and businesses to be part of this movement by donating high-quality fashion, amplifying our message, or partnering to drive social impact. Together, we can turn surplus into support, and style into something truly life-changing for Vietnam’s most vulnerable children.” — Ms. Nga Ho, Managing Director of Vietnam Children’s Fund SE.
“At RE.LOVED, we believe that fashion can serve a much greater purpose. Through Preloved to Beloved, every beautiful piece in someone’s closet can become a chance to bring warmth and hope to children who need it most, while helping to build a more responsible fashion ecosystem in Vietnam,” said Melanie Dao-Ellena, Co-Founder and CEO of RE.LOVED Vietnam.
The official launch event of Preloved to Beloved gathered strong support from the community, donors, and ambassadors including Michele Wee, Trang Le, H’Hen Niê, Ngo Thanh Van, and other KOLs, signaling a bright future for this meaningful initiative. As momentum builds, Preloved to Beloved and RE.LOVED Vietnam is committed to expanding the program’s reach, inviting more partners, donors, and individuals to join the movement, transforming fashion into a force for good, one child at a time.
