For the first time, Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise’s Congenital Heart Defects Screening program team visited Quang Tri – a province rich in history and resilience – spending four days with children in Trieu Phong Commune from September 15 to 18, 2026.

For many families in rural and mountainous areas, geographic distance and limited transportation can make it difficult to reach higher-level hospitals and specialized cardiac centers. That is why Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise partnered with Hoan My Da Nang Hospital, Quang Tri Association for Support of Poor Patients, and the MoMo to bring congenital heart screening closer to children and families in the community.

  • 2,575 children received health check-ups and echocardiograms
  • 14 children were diagnosed with congenital heart defects
  • 12 children were recommended for early intervention or surgery

The children recommended for intervention or surgery will continue to receive follow-up and support.

A heartfelt thank you to the MoMo, Quang Tri Association for Support of Poor Patients, local authorities, and the medical team from Hoan My Da Nang Hospital for joining the program and helping make this first screening trip to Quang Tri so meaningful.
