Bringing Congenital Heart Defects Screening to children in underserved communities takes the collective efforts of many partners. Through its partnership with Vietnam Children’s Fund, Vietnam Airlines serves as an aviation bridge, helping program teams, medical professionals, and medical equipment travel across distances to reach more children in need.

In 2026, this partnership helped bring the program to many provinces and cities, providing free heart screenings for 30,343 children, identifying 330 children with congenital heart defects, and determining that 186 children needed early intervention – opening up opportunities for timely treatment.

Vietnam Airlines has also supported Scar of Life, a program by Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise, by providing travel assistance for donor engagement activities. Thanks to this support, 24 children had the opportunity to meet the donors who helped cover their heart surgery costs. These meetings allowed donors to see the impact of their contributions firsthand while bringing joy and encouragement to the children and their families throughout the recovery journey.

Vietnam Children’s Fund extends its heartfelt thanks to Vietnam Airlines and its Lotusmiles members for donating their meaningful air miles and helping us bridge geographical distances, bring compassion closer to those in need, and create opportunities for young hearts to receive life-changing treatment.
