Congenital heart defects, when detected early, open up more opportunities for timely intervention and treatment. Yet in rural areas, where access to healthcare remains limited and major hospitals are often far away, many children are only taken for check-ups once their condition has already worsened.

With a commitment to reaching children with vulnerable hearts and ensuring they receive the care they need, the Congenital Heart Defects Screening program, in collaboration with doctors from Hanoi Heart Hospital, conducted screenings at Tan Son Regional Medical Center and Yen Lap Regional Medical Center in Phu Tho Province, providing free check-ups for local children.

Joining this meaningful journey were volunteers from Crossian Vietnam, who brought along coloring, drawing, and playful activities, transforming what could have been a daunting hospital visit into a more comforting and engaging experience.

Over two days, March 28–29, 2026, more than 358 children were screened, 26 cases of congenital heart defects were identified, in which 7 cases were in need of timely intervention or surgery.

We sincerely thank the Phú Thọ Department of Health, Hanoi Heart Hospital, and our sponsor, Crossian Vietnam Technology and Software Solutions Company Limited, for partnering with the Vietnam Children’s Fund’s Congenital Heart Defects Screening program, helping expand equitable access to healthcare for children in underserved communities.
