From August 21-23, 2026, a team of doctors from the Cardiovascular Center at E Hospital provided direct examinations, echocardiograms, and consultations for children, helping detect congenital heart abnormalities early and determine appropriate treatment options.

Over three days, the program screened and performed echocardiograms for 450 children, identifying 27 children with congenital heart defects. Of these, 16 were recommended for timely intervention or surgery.

For children who require treatment but come from disadvantaged backgrounds or low-income households, Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise will continue to connect them with available resources and support, so that distance or financial circumstances do not become barriers to their journey toward recovery.

Since 2023, the Congenital Heart Defects Screening program has reached 17 provinces and cities, screening nearly 85,000 children and identifying 735 children with congenital heart defects. Among them, 444 have been recommended for early intervention or surgery.

A heartfelt thank you to the Lao Cai Department of Health, the Cardiovascular Center at E Hospital , and Studio68 for joining Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise in this screening campaign. With the support of these partners, more children have had the opportunity to receive cardiac check-ups, identify potential abnormalities, and access appropriate follow-up and treatment.
