From May 5–8, 2026, the Congenital Heart Defects Screening Program by Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise, in collaboration with the medical team from Da Nang General Hospital, visited healthcare stations across Kon Tum Ward, Quang Ngai Province, providing free heart screenings for thousands of local children.

Through the program, 7,203 children received heart check-ups, with 52 cases of congenital heart defects detected. Among them, 27 children need timely intervention or surgery. For many families in remote areas, early detection not only reduces the risk of complications but also gives children a chance to grow up healthy.

Importantly, children from disadvantaged backgrounds will be guided through the process of applying for surgical support through the Scar Of Life program by Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise, ensuring that their treatment journey does not stop because of financial hardship.

Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise sincerely thanks the Quang Ngai Provincial Children’s Protection Fund, Da Nang General Hospital, and our sponsor, Crossian Vietnam Technology and Software Solutions Company Limited, for accompanying this meaningful initiative. Their support is helping bring access to healthcare closer to children in need, so that more little hearts can receive timely care.
