At just six years old, Do Minh Khoi, a young boy from the Muong ethnic minority community, has already spent years living with Tetralogy of Fallot, a severe congenital heart defect that required surgery.

Raised by a single mother alongside his older sister, Khoi’s family could not afford the cost of treatment.

Hope arrived when he attended a free Congenital Heart Defects Screening program organized by Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise. Following the examination, his family was connected to the Scar Of Life program and received support for his surgery.

After a successful operation, Khoi was discharged on May 22 and returned home to his mother and sister, beginning a healthier and brighter chapter of life.

Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise extends our sincere thanks to Vietnam Airlines for sponsoring flights for congenital heart screening missions nationwide. Their support has helped medical teams reach children in underserved communities, giving many young hearts like Khoi’s the opportunity to heal and thrive.
