“Every household here has a wood stove. The children are kept warm, but only when they are at home, and that alone is not enough to withstand the harsh winter,” shared the Secretary of the Kham Duoi Village branch of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

On March 21, 2026, Preloved to Beloved (a program initiated by Vietnam Children’s Fund) traveled through winding, rugged roads to reach Nam Chay Commune in Lao Cai Province, bringing sweaters and warm blankets to children and families in the area.

As the gifts were handed out, Kham Duoi Village became lively and filled with laughter as children played, ran around, and tried on their colorful new sweaters.

Inside modest homes, hastily built from a few wooden planks on the bare ground, many children were still sniffling, suffering from colds when the Preloved to Beloved team visited, even though the harshest days of winter had passed. While these clothes and blankets cannot change their circumstances, the program hopes they can at least make the winter here a bit warmer.

Preloved to Beloved is a fundraising initiative selling secondhand clothing to purchase new winter wear for underprivileged children in mountainous areas. Join us in bringing warmth to highland communities by donating your pre-loved clothes or supporting us through purchases at our store.
