Representatives from the Vietnam Children’s Fund, along with the Z1 Team, recently visited little Quoc Anh after his successful heart surgery. It was heartwarming to witness his daily recovery, as his heart grows stronger with each beat.
At just three days old, Quoc Anh was diagnosed with congenital heart disease through an ultrasound. After months of monitoring, surgery was recommended as the hole in his heart continued to enlarge. Whenever Quoc Anh played too much, he would become fatigued and turn blue.
His family was officially recognized as being in difficult financial circumstances in their local area. Quoc Anh’s father works as a shrimp farmer, earning 250-300 thousand VND per day. During the shrimp season, there’s plenty of work, but when the season ends, the income significantly decreases. His mother sews clothes at home when she can, trying to earn extra money to support the family. The combined income is just enough to cover daily meals, but the cost of Quoc Anh’s heart surgery was far beyond what they could afford.
In 2024, with a donation of 73,000,000 VND, the Z1 For Hearts 2024 program provided life-saving heart surgeries for two children with congenital heart disease from disadvantaged families, including Quoc Anh. Thanks to this support, the children underwent surgery and now have healthy hearts, just like other kids, filled with hope and joy.
