On October 9–10, 2026, the Congenital Heart Defects Screenings program implemented by Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise reached children across Lang Son Province, providing free cardiovascular screenings to 6,587 children. Of these, 316 underwent echocardiograms for further assessment to identify potential abnormalities and determine whether specialized medical evaluation was needed. The screening mission identified 12 cases of congenital heart defects, including 7 children who require medical intervention or surgery.

Congenital heart defects are among the most common congenital conditions and a leading cause of death among newborns and young children. However, with early detection and timely treatment, many children with congenital heart defects can recover and grow up healthy. Screening therefore plays a vital role in identifying potential abnormalities, enabling children to receive further medical evaluation and access appropriate treatment when needed.

The program was organized by Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise in collaboration with the Lang Son Department of Health and the Cardiovascular Center at E Hospital, with the support of MoMo.

Vietnam Children’s Fund Social Enterprise extends its sincere thanks to MoMo, the Lang Son Department of Health, local authorities, and the medical professionals who joined hands to bring congenital heart defect screenings to thousands of children across Lang Son Province.
